Severe/Chestnut Fronted Macaw. 8 months old. Parent reared and we have been spending time getting her hand tame. She will step up inside the cage but not as yet when outside but will put herself to bed. She is still a bit young to talk much but I have heard so say a lovely delicate “hello”. We have perches around the room and she loves flying from one to another. Will sit closely cuddled for 20 minutes or more. She is fine with other birds and cats but have no experience with young children or dogs. She will come to you and gently take food from your hands. She is called Layla and is DNA sexed female and she comes with her certificate. Although I’m a Severe Macaw, there’s nothing severe about me. Severe Macaw was just the name given to my species all those years ago and in the jungle I might have learnt the title but not as a pet bird! In fact I would prefer to use my other name of Chestnut Fronted Macaw.
