We're selling him simply as we don't have time for him and he's very vocal as a bird, which is to be expected.
But he's very sweet and lovely, he's affectionate and quite clingy and he's full of personality. He's always wanting to come out his cage and socialise which we sadly just don't have time for anymore. His name is Tango which he responds to but he's very smart so he could learn a new name well. He loves car rides and he's very good in the car, as well as sharing food (only parrot safe food however), watching TV and gentle spray baths (water in general.)
I did recall training with him for a while and he knew the commands "come," and "go," (if you pointed to something with his clicker and said "go," he would fly to it.) He's also semi toilet trained; if you take him to the bathroom and tell him "go toilet," then he does do it, but he will also do the toilet in places he's not supposed if you forget to take him. He learns very quickly and I believe he has a lot of potential to be trained. We've not done recall for a while, so he likely will have forgotten, but he could easily be retaught the commands. We trained him with dried papaya as treats. He's fed on Harrison's fine size pellets and occasionally parrot chop.
He's around a year old and we bought him handreared from a breeder, so he comes with a DNA sex test proving he's male and a hatch certificate. He's a very funny and lively bird - he doesn't speak yet, but he makes laughing sounds and copies kissing noises. When he's excited, he nods his head at you and copies you when you do it back to him. He loves being petted and is content as long as there's someone with him as he hates being alone and he will scream very loudly if he's left alone, which is something you have to be aware of if you're going to buy him.
He comes optionally with a Yaheetech cage and lots of toys, and a few other accessories like a harness (he never learned to use this however) a nappy (same as the harness) and a clicker/pointer trainer.
We're looking for someone who has a lot of time and knowledge and ideally other birds so that you'll know what parrots are like and he won't be rehomed again, hopefully. Please reach out to us if you're interested, and we would be very happy to answer any questions you might have in detail.
