    Many people buy ducks for sale as garden ducks can make excellent pet birds. Ducks have unique personalities that make them very entertaining to watch and to be around. Garden ducks however, like all pet birds, require a certain amount of care so you should read this article before you decide to buy ducks for sale.

     

    Keeping Garden Ducks as Pet Birds

     

    • The first thing you need to do is create the garden ducks for sale a good habitat in which to live. One of the most important considerations when keeping these birds is to keep out predators. Garden ducks will need a fairly sizable enclosure that allows them to move around, has a pond area for the ducks to swim in and houses for the ducks to sleep in. You can either keep the grass or use sand to cover the habitat area for your garden ducks and use hay or straw for their bedding area. Like all pet birds, these areas will need regular cleaning.

Hard boiled eggs with the shell are a favourite of garden ducks, as are worms, snails, slugs and various vegetables.     • Make sure that your garden ducks have plenty of clean drinking water that is changed twice a day and that their swimming water is changed regularly to keep it clean. This will help to stop mosquitoes breeding in the water.

     

    • With regards to the ducks’ swimming area, make sure that you have some stairs or something similar near the water that will allow the garden ducks in and out easily as this is a very common time for garden ducks to get leg injuries.

     

    • Like all pet birds, when you buy ducks for sale, make sure that you know of a vet who is capable of dealing with ducks. Many vets that specialise in pet birds should be able to deal with garden ducks.
