Parrots for sale make very attractive pet birds but it is important that you know how to care for a pet parrot before you go out and buy one. This article will give you some information on pet parrots and how to care for them properly.

How to Care for Pet Parrots for Sale

Pet Parrot Food – Different breeds of pet parrot will have different dietary requirements but they will be on the whole similar. In general it is important to feed your parrot fresh fruit and vegetables, parrot pellets and a good parrot seed mix. You will also have to make sure that you regularly change your parrot’s water at least once a day.

Pet Parrot Lifespan and Care – Parrots form very strong bonds with their human owners. You need to realise before you buy pet parrots that small parrots can live between 15 and 30 years and larger parrots can live up to 50 years. Parrots really are for life so if you think you are going to get bored after a few years then owning a pet parrot really isn’t for you. You will also have to spend lots of time with your parrot so that he is mentally and physically exercised regularly.

Pet Parrots Cleaning – You will have to clean out the parrot cage regularly. This includes cleaning all the perches and food dishes. You should not clean the cage with anything strong as it can harm your pet parrot. All you should clean the cage with is mild soap and water. You yourself will also have to make sure that you keep your hands clean when making parrot food because you can pass harmful bacteria to the parrot.
