Leon is a beautiful, fully flighted male Alexandrine. He is very bonded to me and will step onto my finger, take treats from my hand and happily return to his cage at bedtime. We have a special evening routine together, and he calls for me if I am late.
During the summer, Leon has free access to an outdoor aviary through a window from his room. In winter, he stays indoors, especially when it is very cold.Leon does not talk and is nervous around strangers and my husband, often flying away when someone enters the room. He has never bitten me. There was one incident several years ago when my grandson put his finger through Leon's cage while Leon's mate was still with him.
Leon lost his mate last March, and I have been working on building his confidence since then. He needs a patient owner who understands parrots and will give him time to trust them.
His indoor cage can go with him free of charge if wanted.
I am looking for a genuinely loving, experienced and permanent home for this very special bird.
