How To Rid Your Bird Of Toxins

Sometimes birds succumb to illnesses brought on by toxins. Read on to find out how to help cure this.

Take your bird to a veterinarian that specializes in birds and have it examined. Follow the instructions for treatment given to you by the veterinarian. If treatment fails, or the bird's health continues to decline, you can try an aloe detox treatment as a last resort. This treatment has had results for some bird owners.

Mix aloe supplement powder or liquid in with the bird’s water dish. Follow the directions for the amount you should add (not all supplements are of the same strength).

Dip your birds feed, fruit and/or bread crumbs in the supplement. Ingesting the aloe through drinking and eating is the fastest way to get it into your bird's system. The aloe will help restore the strength of the bird's liver and immune system, which will help detoxify the bird's system.

As you notice a positive change in the bird's behavior, such as renewed appetite and activity, you can begin to reduce the dosage gradually. Reduce the dosage by half every week, and then stop giving the supplement after two to three weeks.
