    How to Raise Quail

Usually, quails live in the wild, but occasionally you can find quails for sale to be kept domestically. Here’s how to raise them until they’re old enough to be released into their natural habitat.

Only buy quails or quail eggs from high-quality breeders who don’t sell ill or diseased quails.

A quail will need about 2 square feet of space. Buy housing for it as well as a mix of troughs and water feeders to keep the bird hydrated all the time. You should also give your quail things to peck such as wooden toys – otherwise they could turn on each other and hurt each other. Also add things such as cabbage and hay to the housing so the quails have something to nibble on.

Make sure all the food and water is replaced regularly or else diseases could occur.

Keep the cage clean constantly. Disinfect it once a week or so to make sure your bird doesn’t catch mites or parasites. If this should occur, and it sometimes does, take the quail to the vet.
