The zebra finch is a popular choice of bird for many due to its distinctive looks. However, there are many different types of these finches for sale, and each one has a different appearance. If you are looking to keep these as pet birds, see the following guide to the different varieties that are available.

    English Zebra Finches

The English type was bred to be much larger than the other types in size. Today, these birds have a distinct robust look to them. They are also much rounder than the other sorts.

    German Zebra Finch

The German ones are even bigger than the English type. However, their body shape differs as they are much more tubular and elongated.

    American

It is said that the American breeders did not look to make these pet birds bigger. Instead, they wanted to ensure that their natural qualities were kept well in tact.

    White Zebra Finches for Sale

These are much lighter in colour than all the other variations. They have no distinguishing features, but still have the orange beaks and legs. Not to be mistaken with albinos, this variety can be very white.

    Florida Fancy

These birds have white chests and upper bodies with yellow/beige under parts. They have no black parts on their faces and no breast bars.
