The Sussex Country Show arrived at Parham Park over the weekend, opening its gates to a wonderful line up of countryside living, sporting championships and lots of eager visitors shopping the stalls and taking in the lovely South Downs atmosphere.

Bringing lots of family filled entertainment to the weekend’s proceedings, visitors in their thousands came through the gates and welcomed in esteemed jousters the Knights of Middle England, Jonathan Marshall’s Experience Falconry demonstration, Cyril the Squirrel, as well as the infamous Sussex Spaniels, stationary engines and a huge variety of the UK’s smallest of creatures inside the Cavie Tent.

Away from the various entertainment on offer visitors were also able to try out in the Great Wall Motor World Series Clay Shooting qualifiers and also enter into the Great Wall Motor World Series Gundog Championship with Chudleys, to see how they fared in the scurries and the Working Test. With two Great Wall SE’s worth £16,000 on offer to the winning handler and shot at this September’s Midland Game Fair, both competitions proved as popular as ever.

Managing Director, Jerome Roberts says of the weekend’s activities: “We are thrilled with the turnout at Sussex this year. Visitors really got involved in every aspect of this year’s show with a wide variety of country-based activities and pursuits for all ages to enjoy. With many of the Championship events also hotting up, we are sure the Finals at September’s Midland Game Fair are ones not to be missed. With our Lowther Show next on the Countryman Fairs line-up, those attending will certainly not be disappointed with what’s in store!”

The next event in the Countryman Fairs calendar is the Lowther Show taking place over 9th and 10th August in the remarkable grounds of Lowther Castle.
