Animal welfare officers are trying to trace the owners of a turkey found wandering around Killay, Swansea.

The female brown and black bird was captured by the RSPCA after a motorist spotted it as she reversed off her drive at Pentre Banadl.

A number of other nearby residents also reported spotting the fowl strolling around the suburb's streets.

The RSPCA is appealing for anyone with information about the bird to contact them.

Officers were called to the Killay street on Tuesday, after a member of the public had managed to coral the turkey into a her garage.

RSPCA officer Paula Milton said: "It's not often that we are called out to rescue a turkey but it's vital that the owner of this bird contacts us as soon as possible."

The RSPCA asked for anyone with information to contact  0300 1234 999.
