Well-known and loved African Grey stolen from pet shop in Ewell

A much loved parrot has been stolen from a pet shop in Ewell, Surrey this week. Charlie, a 15-year old African Grey parrot for sale who was hand reared in the shop, was taken forcibly from his cage by thieves who appear to have entered by the front. Shop owners say the parrot could have been stolen to order as African Greys can sometimes fetch up to £1000 when sold privately. Parrots, which are highly intelligent, are very sensitive to stress and can be affected by new experiences and new people. If anybody has any information about Charlie's whereabouts they should contact the branch of Pets Choice in Ewell from whence he was stolen, on 020 8393 0904.
