Nests for birds of prey to be fitted with security cameras
Protective nest cameras are to be fitted in nests around Devon after a spate of poisonings that occured in 2011. The aim is to prevent disturbances and cruelty.
In 2011 there was a range of attacks on birds of prey from around Devon. This move comes after many special birds including goshawks, peregrine falcons and buzzards were targetted and even poisended to death. The aims of the scheme are to prevent this from happening. The cameras will hopefully deter those from doing it. The cameras will be operating 24 hours a day.
