Two popular parrots have been cruelly stolen from a porch in a beachfront home in Long Beach, California. The birds are Long Beach legends after having been in the community for many years – but now Tweetey, a blue and gold macaw, and Jay Bird, a female yellow-naped Amazon parrot, are gone. "I'm still in shock," said Dennis Anderson, who has owned the birds for 30 years. "I don't know what to do."

A witness told police that two men in their late teens or early 20s took the birds, said Lisa Massacani, a spokeswoman for the Long Beach Police Department. Investigators are still looking for the birds, Massacani said, and no suspects are in custody. The suspects were driving a dark sedan. "Everybody in the neighborhood knows about them," Massacani said.
