Frustrated Residents call for Pigeon Cull
Frustrated residents in Kettering, Northamptonshire, have called for a pigeon cull after fortifying their roofs and windowsills with spikes to keep away what they refer to as “pests”. The pigeons were made homeless after the demolition of a nearby derelict pub, the Hog’s Head, where they had made their dwelling. Now, with no other choice, the pigeons have settled in their droves on the roofs of the Victorian homes on Tennyson Road, leading to an inevitable build-up of pigeon droppings in the surroundings of the area – and apparently, some pigeons have even been able to make their way into wall cavities after sneaking through eaves under the roofs. Now these residents have quite drastically called for a cull on the pigeon population. Kettering Council says that anybody experiencing any difficulties should contact them.
