Research shows that female finches get stressed out by their poor-quality mates

New research shows that female finches get just as annoyed with their partners as human women do! Gouldian finches mate for life but often end up with a dud “husband”. Tests show that stress in female finches who get saddled with a poor quality partner almost quadruples within the first 12 hours of initial contact – which shows they can be a lot quicker on the uptake than their human counterparts! These stressed-out finches also take much longer to lay eggs than their luckier finch friends with good-quality partners.
