    As if the world couldn’t get any stranger. Retired heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has revealed in an interview that his ex girlfriend are one of his prized pigeons.

    Talking to a radio show called Boomer & Carton he was asked if he had ever eaten one of his animals. The conversation goes as follows;

    Tyson: “I tried. I was dating this young lady and she said, ‘I don’t know why you’re flying those damn birds, you should be eating them.’ . . . She happened to grab one and—and she cooked one and proceeded to eat it. And I just couldn’t do it.”

    Carton: “You loved the pigeon that much.”

    Boomer: “Well, ’cause he’s got a relationship with the pigeons.”

    Tyson: “It just wasn’t the right thing to do.” . . . “That’s why she’s not my woman anymore.”

    Asked how he could let such a thing happen he responded that;
     “It was her house and we were living off of her dime, so she could do [it].”

    Tyson is a life long animal fan and is even said to be a vegan by losing so much weight and clearing his body from all the drugs and alcohol.At one point he had over 350 pets to look after. He started adopting birds since he was just 9 years old.

    In 2010, Tyson gave an interview about how he came into boxing. It was in fact due to his love of animals. While growing up in Brooklyn, he got into a fight with another kid who had ripped the head of one of this pets. It is most likely that he got into a fight when this happened and it grew from there.
