Dog To Be Put Down For Chicken Attacks
A court in Connecticut is to decide if a Siberian husky named Luna should be euthanized after twice killing chickens in its neighbourhood. The first attack happened in June and animal control officer Tina Binheimer told Luna's owner, Paul Doyle, to fortify his invisible fence, which wasn't keeping his dog contained. A few days later the dog then went and killed even more poultry. New York-based animal rights group The Lexus Project has taken up Luna’s case and even secured a restraining order against Binheimer. Founder Richard Rosenthal has been in negotiations with the town attorney all week. The best result of the case for Rosenthal and Doyle, is for Luna to find a new home. Dan Heald, who owned the unlucky chickens, has said that he would be happy with that outcome – however it is as yet unknown what view the courts will take.
