Children can grab some garden goodies by colourfully capturing our feathered friends on paper.

Heighley Gate Nursery and Garden Centre near Morpeth is running a bird drawing competition as part of its Wild Bird Care Fortnight, which starts on Saturday.

For the winners, there will be a certificate, Gardman large flip-top seed feeder, an 8kg box of seed mix and a Chapelwood pink bird seed-feeder, while the runners-up will receive a certificate, Gardman standard flip-top seed feeder and a 4kg bag of seed mix

There are two age categories, three to seven-year-olds and eight to 14-year-olds, with one winner and one runner-up in each.

The drawings should be done on A4 paper using crayons and must feature a wild bird.

Entry forms are available from the garden centre and drawings should be submitted by Sunday, October 23.
