A hen called Aussie lays an egg the size of a coke can, but will it get her in the record books?

A hen in Iowa, USA, has laid one of the world’s biggest eggs – at over 4 ounces, it’s the size of a can of Coke. The egg was laid by a hen called Aussie from the Iowa town of Bonaparte and its owner Nathan Batten was so proud he carried it around in his pocket for days, showing all his friends. Even so, the egg might not be big enough to get in the record books – the largest ever egg laid according to the Guinness Book of World Records was an egg laid on a Lancashire farm that weighed a whopping 12oz. Head to the Daily Mail to see pictures of the egg laid.
