    Another Needless Pigeon Massacre

In yet another horribly unnecessary act of bird cruelty, dozens of prize pigeons have been slaughtered on a South Yorkshire farm. Eighty-four pigeons, including chicks, had their heads and wings torn off in the break-in at Cudworth, near Barnsley, on Thursday night. The farm’s disabled owner claimed there had been 12 such attacks in the space of 12 weeks on his farm. Police are investigating this incident and other recent incidents on the same farm, which included on Monday night the murder of six hens before Thursday’s pigeon massacre. Neither the owner nor his family or friends know why the thugs have targeted his farm so repeatedly.
