    700,000 Brits Keep Chickens

According to The Sun, nearly 700,000 Britons now keep pet chickens – representing an incredible increase of 80 per cent in just the last three years. Experts believe the increase comes as many householders in rural and even urban areas try to cut grocery costs by producing their own eggs (and white meat, of course.) Tesco said sales of poultry pens had nearly doubled since 2008, further showing how more and more Britons are seeing the benefits of keeping chickens.
