"Countless birds' nests were destroyed" after reserves swiftly came under a metre of water
According to BBC, the nature reserves in Weymouth that were hit by the recent floods will be open in time for the Olympic Games taking place nearby. Still, the damages, will cost about £ 100,000, said the RSPB.
Though the number of dead birds is still unknown, it is believed to be significant, said Rob Farrington quoted by BBC.
