Call Ducks For Sale: What to Consider

If you are looking for call ducks for sale, you probably already know about the many benefits of keeping these wonderful birds. However, if you've always wanted to own ducks but need a little further information on which breed to opt for, then you might want to consider buying call ducks.

%%AFC-ADVERT%% Call ducks are a bantam breed of duck, far smaller than their traditional counterparts. Due to their diminutive stature, they tend to be popular as ornamental ducks rather than for egg or chick production.

These ducks have a similar appearance to Mallards, and have an energetic and inquisitive personality. In terms of appearance, call ducks have a bowl-shaped body, a wide, rounded head with a tiny bill, and small legs.

And one of the major advantages for anybody searching for ducklings for sale is the fact that these birds can come in a variety of different colours. There is no standard colouring, but most ducks are one of the following colours - white, grey, blue, buff, brown, chocolate and spotted black and white.

These ducks can on average produce around 50 eggs a year, so if you're looking for a duck for sale from this class, you can expect a fair amount of eggs, although this does not tend to be the primary appeal of the bird.

    Caring For Call Ducks

In terms of looking after call ducks, even though these birds are fairly small, it's essential to keep these birds in a spacious duck pen where they can live with a comfortable lifestyle. Try and provide a sheltered area in the pond where the ducks can stay protected from the cold during the winter months.

Provide plenty of water for the call ducks; if at all possible construct a small pond area in the pen where the ducks will happily splash around on a daily basis. You'll need to top up this supply of water regularly as call ducks will get restless without access.

In terms of feeding call ducks, you can find duck feed from all good farming supply stores.
