    What Substances are Poisonous to Pet Birds?

    What kind of things are poisonous to birds? If you buy birds for sale you should bear in mind that birds can suffer allergic reactions to many substances and some of these can be fatal. Read this list, which is not exhaustive, of some of the most fatal toxic substances for pet birds.

    ·                    Holly – Can cause intense vomiting, diarrhoea and depression

    Make sure that perches or other equipment you buy for your cage are not made from any of the woods listed. The substances with a * next to them are ok for birds in very small quantities, but are toxic in large amounts.
